Can a writer really help you improve your business?

Yes. Really. If you have a message to communicate to customers and prospects, a writer can help improve its impact by making sure your message is on target. It's the writer's job to understand your message, and, most important, what it's supposed to do. In other words, how do you want the reader to respond to what you say? Do you want them to make a purchase? Click a link? Call your phone number? Feel more positive about your brand? The process must start with these questions to be successful.

So with a focus on your business needs, there are several ways a professional writer can make your message work better:

      Content
Almost every business generates a variety of brochures, websites, marketing emails, and more, all communicating a message about the company. By focusing the message on specific business objectives, it will be more effective at delivering results.

      eNewsletters
If you are a business owner, you have knowledge that has value to others in your field, and to potential customers of your product or service. By providing that knowledge in the form of a regular, effectively distributed eNewsletter, you position your company as an authority in your field. This allows you to then weave your goal oriented message into the content with effective results. Plus, once a potential customer signs up for your newsletter, they become a lead with a valid email address.

      Blog
If you have a website, a regular blog is the easiest and most cost-effective way to deliver your message to customers and prospects. By posting new content on a regular schedule, you keep your message fresh and you give customers a reason to return to your site. Plus, the consistent updating of content boosts your ranking in most search engines.

      Scriptwriting
Creating and posting videos to YouTube or to your own website has become so easy and cost-effective, many businesses are sidestepping expensive video production and creating "home grown" videos for professional use. Still, the words you say in your video are central to your message. By professionally scripting your "home grown" video, the effectiveness of the message can still be maintained while keeping costs down.

      Proofreading
Far too frequently, businesses will invest thousands of dollars on a billboard, a brochure, or a large order of coffee mugs, then discover a typo after it's too late. And it's unfortunate because the cost of hiring a proofreader for an hour or even a full day costs a lot less than it does to reprint because of a mistake.
